Paris 2024: Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser sets an example for clean sport

27.07.2024

Federal Minister of the Interior and for Home Affairs, Nancy Faeser, visited the GIVE EVERYTHING, TAKE NOTHING information stand of the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) in the German House at the start of the Olympic Games in Paris. The doping education, the doping testing programme and the international anti-doping work were the focus of the joint exchange.

The exchange between the Minister and NADA Germany was supported by sabre fencer Léa Krüger and Regula Runge, BMX rider and face of NADA Germany's Olympic campaign, PROUD TO BE TRUE. The athletes emphasised the importance of fair sport and anti-doping work and provided important practical tips.

With the help of the newly developed VR glasses, NADA Germany gave the minister an insight into the doping testing process. The 360° videos gave the minister an immersive insight into the testing process. The VR glasses are used by NADA Germany as a prevention tool and enable young athletes to have their first contact with doping tests.

The Minister also had the opportunity to carry out a Dried Blood Spot Test (DBS) herself. The use of the Dried Blood Spot matrix has been available since 2021.

NADA Germany will be available as a point of contact for athletes at the Olympic Games throughout the entire period with the GIVE EVERYTHING, TAKE NOTHING information stand in the German House.
