Whereabouts reporting requirements

After athletes have been notified by NADA Germany about their testing pool assignment, they are generally subject to the whereabouts reporting requirements of the respective testing pool for the following twelve months.

Since out-of-competition tests are unannounced for all athletes, athletes must report their whereabouts to NADA Germany. This information must be detailed enough to enable the doping control officer to locate the athlete. The whereabouts reporting requirements are based on the NADC and the Standard for Results Management/Disciplinary Proceedings, which contains the reporting requirements in Annex B. The reporting requirements differ depending on the testing pool.

Registered Testing Pool (RTP)

Athletes who are assigned to the RTP store their whereabouts information in ADAMS. These contain the location and time of overnight stays, competitions, training sessions, vacations and regular activities such as school or work and must always be up to date. In addition, RTP athletes must specify a one-hour testing window between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. each day in which they are available for a test.

National Testing Pool (NTP)

Athletes who are assigned to the NTP store their whereabouts information in ADAMS. These contain the location and time of overnight stays, competitions, training sessions, vacations and regular activities such as school or work and must always be up to date.

General Testing Pool (GTP)

There is no obligation for GTP athletes to store their whereabouts information in ADAMS. They must provide NADA with their details using the completed "Athlete Registration Form". This must include details or changes to the data relevant to the planning of out-of-competition tests, such as (secondary) addresses, training times and locations or contact details. The "Athlete Registration Form for the GTP" and an "FAQ Athlete Registration Form for the GTP" can be found in the download section under forms.

Team Testing Pool (TTP)

Team cancellations are sent weekly by email to NADA Germany from clubs and contain information on the weekly schedule for all training and game operations, contact persons and absent players. A template for the DEL and DFL team deregistration as well as the relevant information sheets can be found in the download section.

Whereabouts registration requirements for NADA Germany testing pools

The standard for whereabouts reporting requirements that was valid until December 31, 2020 is no longer applicable. Annex B of the Standard for Results Management/Disciplinary Proceedings contains the whereabouts reporting requirements for NADA Germany's testing pools. With the entry into force of the revised set of rules in 2021, there will be an important change for athletes: If they have been found to have a filing failure or to have missed a test, the reporting obligations of the RTP apply to them from the day of delivery.
