Dr Lars Mortsiefer, Executive Board Member and chief legal advisor of the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany), has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Institute for Sport Science (BISp) by Federal Minister of the Interior and Community Nancy Faeser. The term of office for this honorary position is three years, and reappointment is possible once.
The main task of the advisory board, which is appointed in agreement with the German Olympic Sports Confederation, is to provide expert advice on BISp's research programme and its focus on research funding. Mortsiefer is now responsible for providing expert advice in the area of anti-doping research on the advisory board. Previously, chair of NADA Germany's Executive Board Dr Andrea Gotzmann was a member of the advisory board for two terms.
